As a field systems engineer you will ne required to join the operations team of a rapidly expanding business providing mobile network solutions within the rail sector in both the UK and international markets.
This role requires an individual with a minimum three years IT support/Engineering maintenance experience and who promotes a flexible working attitude
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The field systems engineer is responsible for the operational availability of the IT and telecoms equipment within a railway environment.
This is a train and trackside role which requires the problem solving of faults via diagnostics both remotely and on-site, these faults are notified via phone, email or a fault management system.
Undertake hardware and software upgrades and failure replacements where appropriate.
Client facing skills are essential with good planning, co-ordination and proven hands-on experience.
Necessary training is provided.
CANDIDATE:
This role requires the following candidate:- A self motivated, organised, and contentious person with good timekeeping.
Key Skills:-
· Very good problem solver
· IT knowledge & experience including trouble-shooting (can demonstrate)
· IP Networking knowledge (can demonstrate)
· Previous field engineering experience
· Ability to work unsupervised
· Experience and knowledge of 802.11 technology
· Willingness to travel
Desirable Skills:-
· Linux OS experience
· Trouble Ticket experience
WORKING HOURS:
Due to the flexible nature of the role working hours will include some night and occasional weekends.
SALARY:
Competitive Market Rate – dependant on experience and qualifications.
