Our client is a
leading manufacturing company involved in the engineering, design and
manufacturing of industrial power systems. Currently in need for a
Project manager, the ideal candidate would have the following skills:
Position Summary
The scope of this key role involves project management, sales and
technical support for all marine market segments, from concept through
implementation, to the final commissioning and handing over of an
operational project. The Project Manager will be the focal point as
well as the co-ordinator of all marine project related activities.
Key Accountabilities
Provide technical sales support during all phases of projects and
ongoing business, from concept through implementation, to the final
commissioning and handover of an operational project.
Provide second line sales support for marine customer.
Assist Account Managers with the development of quotes and submittal packages, where appropriate.
Oversee project planning and contract administration: Interpretation of
all related job documents: contract specification, bid proposal and job
estimate, where applicable; Identify potential areas of question with
these documents.
Provide advice to the contractor or
client on the interpretation of contract documents, and issuing
supplementary details and instructions as required.
Review shop drawings for general compliance with design requirements and contract documents;
Ensure effective project scheduling and expediting; Periodically visit
sites to assess progress generally and the works conformity with the
contract documents.
Arrange for and attend customer project meetings in a timely manner.
Oversee and ensure timely and accurate project invoicing and receivables.
Ensure proper project closure, complete project closing checklist.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science, or its equivalent;
Minimum 3-5 years' related engineering experience with relevant
experience and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, engineering fields;
Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across a range of
diverse teams including technicians, engineering teams, senior executives, branch management;
Demonstrated relationship building skills with the ability to engage with customers on every level including
engineering, marketing and service issues;
Demonstrated planning and organizational skills with the ability to
deliver on multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven
environment. Strong sense of urgency to deliver timely results is
essential;
Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated initiative and creative problem solving skills.
Ability to analyze situations and make tough, timely decisions;
Knowledge of / experience with basic accounting and project financials;
Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCad, MS Office, and specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
